bOLLYWOOD gREAT NEWS

Amid speculation over whether Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit will accept his offer to play the lead role, Indian-origin filmmaker Krishna Shah has said he is in talks with some major US and British stars for a biopic on Indira Gandhi.

"I am approaching the project from the (Richard) Attenborough school of casting. There will be many big names from both Bollywood and Hollywood to draw audiences in," Shah told the Daily Telegraph in comments published Tuesday.
Shah, who last directed the low-budget Hard Rock Zombies for the American market in 1985, said he is in talks with acclaimed British actors Albert Finney, Helen Mirren and Emily Watson and Hollywood stars Tom Hanks and Tommy Lee Jones.
The big-budget two-parter is due to start filming in April next year in India, Britain, Russia and the US, he said.
Dixit told IANS recently that although Shah had approached her for the role," nothing has been finalised. We're still in negotiations".
She added: "My decision would depend on where it would be shot and how long it would take to shoot the film. Also, who are the other actors in the project. The casting is very important. Because one would want large sections of the audience to see the film."
Shah described the film as "the project of my life, both in its scale and the subject".
"I have been working on the script for over two decades and it is simply a story that has to be told. It took me years to find a way into her story, but I found it with her role as a mother - both to her family and to a nation with its teeming millions. Indira was India," he added.
Aamir 3 IDIOTS Khan sorry to Aryan, Suhani, not to Shah Rukh Khan!!

Aamir Khan, the perfectionist Khan of bollywood who had created furore in bollywood by calling his dog Shah Rukh and then apologized to King Khan recently, has clarified that his apologies were meant for Shah Rukh Khan’s kids Aryan and Suhani and not for Shah Rukh Khan himself.

In fact, Aamir Khan who enacts the character of a truant engineering student in Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming ‘3 Idiots’, goes to the extent of saying that he did not feel any need to apologize to King Khan for the dog comment. Aamir did not stop at that and took a dig on Shah Rukh Khan by pronouncing his wife Kiran Rao’s name like K..K..K..Kiran in stammering way (it is considered typical Shah Rukh Khan act after  he had done it in Yashraj Films’ ‘Darr’ in pronouncing the name of Juhi Chawla’s character).

Aamir’s above mockery of Shah Rukh Khan had come in response to a question that who was his leading lady. Aamir was at his witty best and responded with the name of K…K …Kiran.

However, what surprised the bollywood watchers was the presence of Karan Johar with Aamir Khan on the same stage, from where Aamir was making fun of King Khan by muttering K..K…Kiran. Karan Johar is considered one of the closest allies of Shah Rukh Khan and his growing fondness for Aamir Khan made the analyst sit up and notice the implications.

In fact, Karan Johar went to the extent of idolizing Aamir Khan by recalling how he had watched perfectionist Khan’s debut flick ‘Qayamat se Qayamat Tak’ for sixteen times in a month. Karan also termed the flick to be the best romantic flick (conveniently forgetting Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘DDDLJ and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, which were his favorite sometime ago!!)

There are different theories doing the rounds in bollywood regarding Aamir Khan’s latest salvo towards SRK and his equation with Karan Johar. The dominant view in the industry is that Aamir Khan by differentiating between Shah Rukh Khan and his children is trying to repair the damage which had been done by his dog comment on Shah Rukh Khan.

In fact, Aamir Khan understands that not only Shah Rukh Khan’s children but also SRK fans were angry with him for that comment and now when Aamir Khan’s next flick ‘3 Idiots’ is going to be released on Christmas, h e does not want Shah Rukh Khan’s fans to feel alienated from him.

So, this all coming from Aamir Khan, the perfectionist, is a well thought out strategy to wean away Shah Rukh Khan fans from him. It was the reason he wanted to say sorry to Shah Rukh Khan’s children (read SRK fans), if he had hurt their feelings by his dog comment, but not to Shah Rukh Khan (to keep his ego intact, perhaps).
